Workflo is a native macOS app made by Lucid Labs. It opens the apps you need, moves and resizes every window the way you set it, and clears the rest, on its own, from your calendar or the clock. One-time purchase, no accounts, and everything it knows stays on your Mac.

01Why Workflo exists

A Mac workday is a context switch every hour: a call, a focus block, docking at the desk, undocking to leave. Every switch costs the same manual minute of reopening, dragging, resizing and hiding. The tools in this space make that minute faster, but they all wait to be asked.

Workflo isn't a faster way to arrange windows; it's the end of arranging them as a task. It stages Scenes from your calendar or the clock without being asked, so the workspace is set before the moment arrives. And a Scene isn't a window move: it opens the apps that aren't running, places every window, and clears everything that isn't part of it. Other tools rearrange what you already have open; a Scene decides what's open in the first place.

Workflo also learns your layout for every display setup on its own, so everything snaps back where it belongs when your displays change: undocking at work and docking at home both land you exactly where you left off.

02Who makes it

Workflo is designed, built, and supported by Lucid Labs, an independent software company. There is no support queue between you and the product: mail to contact@getworkflo.app is read and answered by the people who build the app. The changelog is the honest record of how the app evolves, release by release.

03The principles it's built on

  • Local only. Layouts, Scenes, and rules are plain JSON in a folder on your Mac. No account, no cloud, no subscription. The privacy policy is short because there is little to explain.
  • The minimum permission. Workflo runs on Accessibility alone and never requests Screen Recording, so it structurally cannot see the contents of your windows. Competing tools take Screen Recording to draw window previews; Workflo does previews without it.
  • Native and small. Built in Swift for macOS, about 4 MB. It looks and behaves like it belongs on the platform because it was built for exactly one platform.
  • Bought once. $19.99, one time, after a free 7-day trial. Updates ship through Sparkle and every release is EdDSA-signed.
